About Me

Nigel Marsh Photography

Nigel Marsh is an Australian underwater photographer and photojournalist whose work has been published in numerous magazines, newspapers and books, both in Australia and overseas. Nigel has dived extensively around Australia, especially on the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea Reefs. However, his dive adventures have also taken him throughout Asia, the Pacific Islands, the Caribbean and Atlantic. His underwater photographs have also won a number of photographic competitions.

Always in the water from an early age, Nigel took his first underwater photos in 1980 at the age of fifteen. Learning to dive in 1983, Nigel was soon sharing his experiences in articles for dive magazines, such as Sportdiving, Divelog, Scuba Diver, Diver, Underwater Geographic, Dive Pacific, Ezdive, Asian Diver and Shark Diver. Over the years Nigel has produced thousands of articles on diving, travel, shipwrecks and marine life, most with his wife and partner Helen Rose, who is herself a talented underwater photographer and an exceptional dive model.

Working closely with his friend and mentor, the late great Neville Coleman, allowed Nigel to co-author two guide books with Neville in the 1990s. Since then Nigel has produced over a dozen of his own books, including dive guides to the Great Barrier Reef and Australia, children's books on marine life and marine life guides. When not diving or travelling Nigel also teaches underwater photography and leads special photography tours to exotic dive destinations.
