The sunburnt country of Australia has many attractions for visitors, from its unusual and unique wildlife, to its busy modern cities to its many natural wonders. This collection of images shows a small sample of its attractions, taken on the Great Barrier Reef, Great Ocean Road, Perth, Narooma, Montague Island and spots around Tasmania.
The Khmer empire flourished in Cambodia for over 600 years and in that time they built some of the most impressive cities and temples found anywhere on the planet. These stone monuments are spread across the country, but are centred around the town of Siem Reap, where travellers can explore famous temple complexes like Angkor Wat, the Bayon and Preah Khan. These images were taken around Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.
Hong Kong has a long and interesting history, growing to be a financial hug while under British rule. While having a large population in a small space, plus the greatest concentration of skyscrapers of any city, Hong Kong also has lots of green spaces and a network of pretty bays. India is a travel experience without equal. Jordan is one of the most peaceful and stable countries in the Middle East and located at the crossroad between Africa, Asia and Europe, it has a long and varied history. The country has many attractions, from historic sites to its wonderful cuisine. These images show a few highlights, including the capital of Amman, the Roman ruins of Jerash, the Crusdaer Castle at Aljun, the spectacular desert scenery of Wadi Rum and the amazing ancient city of Petra.
Land-locked Laos is squashed between Thailand and Vietnam, but is not over-shadowed by its larger neighbours, having a charm and character all of its own. The low-lying island nation of the Maldives is a paradise for divers, snorkelers or anyone that enjoys water sports. Located on the seafaring route between Africa and Asia, the nation has an interesting culture as well as 26 atolls waiting to be explored. Primitive, remote and untamed are all used to describe one of the last frontiers, Papua New Guinea. This South Pacific nation is still largely unexplored, offering the visitor mountainous jungle treks, encounters with colourful tribes, exotic wildlife and diving adventures beyond compare. The people of Timor Leste endured a long hard battle for independence, first from Portugal and then from Indonesia. Today the tiny nation is still struggling to find its feet, with tourism one of its key industries. While diving is the big attraction, visitors can also explore historic sites and its remote jungle covered hills. Most of these images were taken around the capital of Dili.
